Unbox the Dress is a fashion and design company based in Winston-Salem, NC that specializes in transforming wedding dresses into custom heirloom gifts-- a creative and sustainable alternative for storing a memorable dress to be left unused. We repurpose the fabric and embellishments into new garments, accessories, soft goods, Christmas items, and other meaningful items.
What I Create...
During my time as a Senior Sewist at Unbox the Dress, I've applied and expanded my academic skills while developing a deep understanding of the company's mission, values, and visual identity. In addition to expanding my product knowledge, I've learned a wide range of techniques from initial garment deconstruction to final product execution. Unbox the Dress continues to influence both my personal work and my external professional projects.
